The Ave Maria Orchard of Mairena del Alcor, which, as Cervantes said, lies four leagues from SEVILLA.


At that time (the year 1613), there were already orange trees in Mairena, although the first planting in the Ave Maria Orchard is dated on one of its grove gates with the year 1867, an era that began the massive exportation of "Sevilles" to England, thanks to the taste that the British developed for the marmalade.
